In my heart of hearts, I am a teacher. Currently, I am a full-time teacher at a middle school in Covina-Valley Unified School District teaching STEM Project-Based Learning and French. I am also a part-time lecturer at California State University, Los Angeles in the Division of Applied and Advanced Studies in Education.
I enjoy creating and writing Common Core Math, English, and French curricula and assessments for the school district in addition to training teachers on new materials. I have co-written robotics curriculum with Barnabas Robotics that focuses on the four basic types of engineering.
I am an Apple Teacher, Discovery Educator Network Star, Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, and Raspberry Pi Certified Educator presenting at various EdTech conferences each year, including CUE.
My research focuses on dual-immersion education: the students, the teachers, and the development of these programs. My dissertation is titled Dueling Complexities: Lived Experiences of Dual-Lang Immersion Teachers.
